Bat Night In The Cowichan Estuary
On September 22, 2026, Nature Cowichan, the Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre, and CERCA hosted their second Bat Night along Western Terminal Road. Led by Bernhard H.J. Juurlink, participants used acoustic recorders to identify local and migratory bat species, tracking how they use echolocation to navigate and hunt in the estuary.
